AFHS Winter Blast 2026 Volunteer INFORMATION
Thank you for volunteering for our signature annual event and largest fundraiser! It would not be possible without the help of our entire band community.
If you still need to volunteer for a shift:

General Volunteer Information
Please park in the middle school staff parking lot (enter at the bus loop entrance, but make first left into middle school staff parking lot) and walk to the high school and enter at bus drop-off. If this is full, use lot behind the middle school or the main middle school lot (both marked as “overflow parking on the map below) – please DO NOT park in the back of AFHS as this is for equipment drop-off only. Please also avoid parking in the spectator lot as we expect a lot of spectators throughout the day.
Please check in with the volunteer coordinator before starting your shift (the volunteer check-in will be located near entryway to cafeteria – see map below)
Note that since there are more than 30 positions which need to be filled in order for things to go smoothly, you may be reassigned to work in a different area than you’ve signed up.
At check-in, volunteers will receive a badge so spectators and performers know our volunteers. You will also receive a wristband so that you can come in and out of the gym as needed. If you are a floater, this is where you will receive your assignment.
If you need coverage of your volunteer spot to watch your student perform, please let them know at check in so arrangements can be made.
There is a built-in overlap between shifts – this is to allow for some flexibility in transitioning from one set of volunteers to another. Once the new set of volunteers has reported and been trained so there can be a smooth transition, the old set of volunteers can leave. If you have a badge, please return it to the volunteer check-in table. If you loved your shift and want to see what else needs coverage for the afternoon/evening, please check in with the volunteer table as well and sign up for additional shifts.
If you need to leave and another volunteer is not there to take your position, please message the volunteer coordinator (details provided at check-in) – PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE A POSITION UNATTENDED.
